ARA is a legally constituted Portuguese Charity Association with the prime objective of caring for and subsequently rehoming stray, abandoned and distressed dogs and cats. The charity was founded in 2017 by a resident English businessman who funded the total capital cost of the project and has also financed running costs since its inception. The governing body of the Association comprises twelve individuals who are all volunteers. Especially important to ARA is not just the betterment of animal welfare locally but eventually throughout Portugal.
Castelo de Sonhos is a charity that was founded in 1999 by Liliana Rodrigues to support families in need in the region around Silves & Lagoa. The charity has a Management Board, and is focused on providing assistance to local families. In particular, there is a strong emphasis on needy families with young children or babies.

The Girls Home
Casa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição (CNSC) has for over 70 years provided a safe place for young girls. CNSC is located in Portimão, where they have a house for some 30 young girls. They are preparing a major refurbishment project of their facilities to improve the comfort of our girls. The donations from our club will help CNSC to do this project successfully. To help CNSC over a longer period, we have agreed with the Vice Captains that they will continue the support during their Captains year. 
ACCA is a non-profit charitable organisation that raises funds to help support the needs of individual causes and existing institutions that work with children, across the whole of the Algarve from Sagres to Vila Real do San Antonio. The many institutions deliver vital care and support in their local communities, for the mental, physical and social needs of children.
