What a glorious day for the competition today, most welcome after all the rain we experienced recently. Despite being oversubscribed initially, 60 players took part today. As is often the case, we were a little short on players for the ladies' team so we are most grateful for the gents who volunteered to identify as ladies, temporarily. Our thanks go to Ian McMahon, Ian Wylie, Rob Lench (sporting a fetching bright pink wig!) Gernot MacSchmid and Chris Dearden. Did that make a difference? We will see. Sadly, the Gents' Captain was unable to play due to a hand injury. Did that make a difference? Here are the results: Gents: won 7 games Ladies: won 6 games So the Gents team won today! The Gents each took home a box of lovely Belgian chocolates. Well done to the winners! This event also raises funds for the Captains' charity and 90 euros will go towards the charity funds today. Thank you to everyone who played today and I hope you all enjoyed your game, whether you won or not. And a big thank you to Kris van der Zee who collected all the entry fees on behalf of the Captains. The next Gents Captain v Ladies Captain event is scheduled for October. See you there!
